Welcome, single malt lovers! You are holding High Country American Single Malt made in our copper pot stills high in the Wasatch Mountains of Utah. As admirers (and imbibers) of the famed single malt whiskies of Scotland, we wanted to create a uniquely crafted version of an American single malt.

To provide the robust, flavor-forward profile more typical of American whiskeys and of our High West style, High Country American Single Malt is distilled on-the-grain. This means that we leave the grain in during fermentation and distillation, instead of filtering it out.

In the tradition of American and Scottish whiskey making, we use both freshly charred and second-use oak barrels during the maturation stage. These techniques produce a whiskey that shows its distinctive and delicious American qualities with a heavier mouthfeel, roasted malt character, and balanced complexity. High Country American Single Malt is best enjoyed neat or with a few drops of water while appreciating a magnificent western vista.

The palate is malty and well-textured, though it seems young, and offers notes of candied watermelon, poached pears, and red apple slices. Lots of maltiness on the finish as well, with chocolate spice and vibrant fresh fruit notes of apple and peach. Tasting Notes:

Nose: Roasted macadamia nuts, dried cherry, bananas Foster, toasted coconut, chocolate chip ice cream, raisin bread, soft wood smoke in a sooty chimney, sea spray.

Taste: Smoked pear, honey over baked apples, lemon rind, cherry Toblerone, dark chocolate milkshake topped with whipped cream, toffee nuts, toasted puffed rice, sea salt & buttered skillet brioche rolls.
