WINEMAKER S NOTE

Named in honour of William James Joyce, co-founder of Pike & Joyce and beloved patriarch of the Joyce family. Bill had the vision to plant vines and open a cellar door On Top of the Hill in Lenswood. Excellent rainfall throughout winter and spring provided perfect conditions to start the growing season. The cool weather continued with summer being one of the coolest on record. These perfect conditions gave us some amazing fruit, with high natural acids and delicate yet concentrated flavours.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance: Dark cherry red.

Aroma: A coming together of summer berries, earth, and spice. Whole bunch characters and whispers of charry oak add to the intrigue.

Palate: Medium palate weighted with rich cherry, sweet red fruits and earthy tones continuing through to the palate. An elegant and structural finish, whole bunch and fine-grained oak tannins providing a great length.

Summary: An exceptional expression of Pinot Noir from our site. Drinking well now but will reward cellaring of 5+ years. A fantastic match with Tea-Smoked Roast Duck
